The effects of adding objectives to an optimisation problem on the solution set

چکیده

Suppose that for a given optimisation problem (which might be multicriteria problem or a single-criteron problem), an additional objective function is introduced. How does the the set of solutions, i. e. the set of efficient points change when instead of the old problem the new multicriteria problem is considered? How does the set of properly efficient points, the set of weakly efficient points and the set of strictly efficient points change? And what kind of effects occur in the value space? This paper answers these questions under various suitable assumptions.

A New Solution for the Cyclic Multiple-Part Type Three-Machine Robotic Cell Problem based on the Particle Swarm Meta-heuristic

In this paper, we develop a new mathematical model for a cyclic multiple-part type threemachine robotic cell problem. In this robotic cell a robot is used for material handling. The objective is finding a part sequence to minimize the cycle time (i.e.; maximize the throughput) with assumption of known robot movement. The developed model is based on Petri nets and provides a new method to calcul...

Optimisation of assembly scheduling in VCIM systems using genetic algorithm

Assembly plays an important role in any production system as it constitutes a significant portion of the lead time and cost of a product. Virtual computer-integrated manufacturing (VCIM) system is a modern production system being conceptually developed to extend the application of traditional computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM) system to global level. Assembly scheduling in VCIM systems is ...

Optimizing the Static and Dynamic Scheduling problem of Automated Guided Vehicles in Container Terminals

The Minimum Cost Flow (MCF) problem is a well-known problem in the area of network optimisation. To tackle this problem, Network Simplex Algorithm (NSA) is the fastest solution method. NSA has three extensions, namely Network Simplex plus Algorithm (NSA+), Dynamic Network Simplex Algorithm (DNSA) and Dynamic Network Simplex plus Algorithm (DNSA+). The objectives of the research reported in this...

A Comparison of Four Multi-Objective Meta-Heuristics for a Capacitated Location-Routing Problem

In this paper, we study an integrated logistic system where the optimal location of depots and vehicles routing are considered simultaneously. This paper presents a new mathematical model for a multi-objective capacitated location-routing problem with a new set of objectives consisting of the summation of economic costs, summation of social risks and demand satisfaction score. A new multi-objec...

FGP approach to multi objective quadratic fractional programming problem

Multi objective quadratic fractional programming (MOQFP) problem involves optimization of several objective functions in the form of a ratio of numerator and denominator functions which involve both contains linear and quadratic forms with the assumption that the set of feasible solutions is a convex polyhedral with a nite number of extreme points and the denominator part of each of the objecti...
